As we are all aware, Cami Stock has taken over as team head coach. Cami brings a lot to the team and we are all looking forward to her help, encouragement and enthusiasm.

The next team meeting is scheduled for Saturday September 20 after practice. We will send out a meeting agenda before the meeting.

Little Red Lighthouse is still open. It is a fast 5.85 mile swim. Register at www.nycswim.org The Grimaldos mile is also available. There are plenty of spaces in both swims so we should all join. Go to www.cibbows.org to sign up

US MASTERS SWIMMING LONG COURSE CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 2008 USMS Long Course National Championships will be held at the Mt Hood Community College, Gresham , OR 14-17 August 2008 (Gresham is near Portland). It is another meet to follow to judge you times: http://www.usms.org/comp/lcnats08

BREASTSTOKE IN THE FREESTYLE EVENT
For those swimmers who would like to swim the Breaststroke in the Freestyle event, please be aware of the freestyle rule that past 15 meters some part of the swimmers body must be above the water. Most breaststrokes have an undulating motion where they will be submerged during part of the cycle.

If you receive a DQ for this infraction, remember it is a freestyle event and you must comply with the Freestyle rules.

1 yards = 0.9144 meters

To convert from Meters to Yards, simply multiply the meters by 1.09
To convert from Yards to Meters; simply multiply the yards by 0.91
